                              Multi-Org
  •  In order to allow use of the system by multiple business units, accommodating differing            requirements for functional curriencies, accounting structures and security, whilst at the same time    ensuring a cenetral core design oracle provides functionality known as “multiple organization” in     short is called “Multi-Org”
  • This allows different business units to have their own view of the applications, in particular for the financials AP,AR,FA,LE and Inv. Business Group:
  • It allowed all HR specific polices like employee information, salary information, organization    information etc.
  • It is one of the organization in the oracle application to classified organization classification as  ‘Business Group’
  • A Business group holds a complete, self contained set of information on work  remuneration policies  and employees
  •  You must have at least one business group for fresh installation
  • Oracle Application provides a predefined business group setup business group
  • Oracle application recommend that you modify the predefined business group rather than defining a new one
  •  If you define a new business group instead of modifying the predefined business group, you need to set the business group profile option at responsibility level for new business group
Ledger:
·         It is a financial reporting entity to general ledger. Mainly it is identify by 4 C’s
          1.      Currency
          2.      Chart of accounts
          3.      Accounting calendar
          4.      Accounting Convention
Legal Entity:
·         It  is legal/authorized company who submit fiscal reports to the government authorities
·         The legal entity configurator allows you to define legal entities and establishments in oracle                 system to achieve legal compliance for business activities handled by the oracle application
·         Legal Entity are mapped to the balancing segment value with in a ledger so multiple legal entity          are accounted for in a ledger
·         Once balancing segment value segment s have been added to legal entities they cannot be                    deleted, only end-dated balancing segments added to only the ledger and not the ledger entity can         be removed
·         A legal company for which you prepare fiscal or tax reports
·         You assign tax identifiers and other legal entity information to this type to organization
Operating Unite:
·         It is autonomous business transaction like purchasing the materials, pay the payment to the                  supplier, sell the products to the customer, receive  the amount from the customer etc..
·         It is the one of the organization in the oracle application we classified organization classification       as ‘Operating Unit’
·         An organization that uses oracle subledger such as oracle cash management, OM, shipping                  execution, AP,PO, AR and related products.
·         It may be a sales office, a division or a department
·         Operating units are assigned to ledgers and a default legal context
·         MO:Operating unit profile option only provides access to one operating unit
·         MO:Security profile provides access to multiple operating units from a single responsibility
Inventory Organization:
·         This is defined as an  of type inventory organization using the inventory responsibility
·         An inventory organization can be a physical entity like a warehouse where inventory is stored            and transocted or it can be an organization that manufactures and distributes products or both
·         Inventory organization can also be a logical entity like an item master organization which only            holds items with no transations
·         The inventory organization has a costing method, a workday calendar and a list of items
·         It stores information from oracle inventory, BOM, WIP, Supply chain planning and purchasing          receiving functions
·         The inventory organization would have subinventories and locators defined underneath it.
